It has been a remarkable year for all of us at IT Masters (ITM)! With multiple sessions and terms for our postgraduate courses, exciting new short courses, the launch of the ITM Store, and much more, there’s so much to celebrate. Let’s take a moment to reflect on everything we’ve accomplished together this year in this article 2024: A Year in Review at ITM.

Three Sessions and Two Terms

First, congratulations to our graduating students and new alumni! We’re proud of your achievements and warmly welcome all new postgraduate students who have chosen ITM and CSU for their educational journey. A special thank you goes to our Session Support and Admissions teams for their tireless efforts in assisting our students throughout the year. Graduates, don’t forget to join our LinkedIn Alumni group to stay connected and grow your professional network.

Short Courses

This year marked our first full year using the new version of our Learning Site, launched in late 2023. Thank you to our short course students for your patience as we worked through some initial challenges. We’re committed to continuous improvement and welcome your feedback through the Short Course inbox. This year was also our most productive yet, with six short courses delivered—our biggest effort to date!
In case you missed any, here’s a quick summary:

  1. Introduction to CyberOps

Based on the Cisco CCNA CyberOPS certification, ITM Mentor Matt Constable, introduced some of the foundation topics of CyberOps aiming to prepare students who are at the beginning of a career working in a Security Operations Centre.

  2. Prep for Post Grad Study

Led by Chantelle Hale, CEO of IT Masters and an Adjunct Lecturer at CSU, this course covers essential topics ranging from study commencement and learning styles to critical thinking and mastering the APA 7 referencing style.

  3. Agile Evolved – The Bigger Picture

Whether you’re new to Agile or a seasoned practitioner this course, led by Agile expert Brenton Burchmore, aims to give essential insights into Agile core principles and its evolving role in modern businesses.

  4. CompTIA Security+ Prep

Presented by Dr. Georg Thomas this course aims to prepare for students for their CompTIA Security+ (SY0-701) exam with comprehensive webinars, designed to equip you with essential cybersecurity knowledge and skills.

  5. Big Data

Mentor Matt Constable helped us unlock the power of data with this course designed for IT professionals, data enthusiasts, and anyone eager to delve into the world of Big Data.

  6. Next-Gen Network Security

Presented by new comer Iain Robertson and based on Palo Alto’s  ‘Networks Certified Cybersecurity Entry Level Technician’ (PCCET) syllabus, this course is perfect for those looking to break into the cybersecurity field.

Webinars

In addition to delivering five Orientation webinars for new postgraduate students, we hosted an exciting lineup of free Info Sessions featuring guest speakers from ACS, CompTIA, and IT professionals from diverse industries. Ahead of the Session 3 intake, we introduced a new webinar format with breakout rooms, allowing attendees to interact directly with Industry Mentors, Admissions and Course Advisers, and ITM postgraduate alumni. Thank you to every single one of our attendees this year and here’s a list of those webinars for anyone wishing to re-watch or catch up:

  1. Info Session: Cross Post Grad off your 2024 Bucket List!
  2. Info Session: How ACS membership can boost your studies and career
  3. Panel: Why is tech still a boys’ club?
  4. Info Session: How AI can and can’t improve cyber security
  5. Info Session: Get Your Masters Faster!
  6. Info Session: How To Know When AI Lies
  7. Info Session: Pathway to 50% Off Your Post Grad

ITM Store

We also expanded our focus on Industry Certifications, introducing the ITM Store with CompTIA Security+ products. Through our partnership with CompTIA, we offered exclusive discounts to our short course and postgraduate students. Combining Industry Certifications with postgraduate qualifications continues to be a game-changer for our students, and we’re eager to expand these offerings in the future—stay tuned for updates!

What’s next?

As we look to 2025, the future is bright. Expect more webinars, more short courses, more industry content—just more of everything! We’re excited to support you in your learning journey and career aspirations every step of the way. Thank you for being part of an amazing year!
