How do I save up to 50% on my Master’s Course fees?

Navigating the cost of a Master’s degree can seem complex because everyone’s pathway is unique. That’s why we strongly recommend speaking with our course advisors before or during your application process—they can help tailor the right strategy for your situation.

Here’s a general overview, using Cyber Security as an example:

  • Master of Cyber Security: 12 subjects (6 industry-focused, 6 academic).
  • Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security: 4 subjects (2 industry, 2 academic).

1. Start with a Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security

Enrol in a Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security and take advantage of Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP), which costs $1,116 per subject. This totals $4,464 for the certificate, saving 70% off the usual cost of $15,560.

2. Add a Graduate Certificate in Computing (Career Transition)

Next, you can complete a Graduate Certificate in Computing (Career Transition), with 4 subjects also at $1,116 each, totalling $4,464.

3. Complete the Master of Cyber Security

Finally, enrol in the Master of Cyber Security to complete the remaining 4 subjects at $3,501 each (with a 10% alumni discount), totalling $14,004.

In this scenario, you’ll pay $22,932 for your Master’s degree, not $46,680—a cost saving of just over 50%. Plus, you’ll earn two Graduate Certificates along the way.

Additional Savings Opportunities:

  • IT Masters Short Courses: Complete three of our free short courses to save another $3,890 by receiving a subject credit.
  • ACS Membership & Certification: Becoming an ACS member and achieving CP or CT certification (approximately $780) can save you $3,890 or $7,780 with one or two subject credits.
  • Industry Certifications: We’ve approved over 200 industry certifications for additional subject credits, extending your savings further.
  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): If you’ve previously studied similar subjects, they may be eligible for RPL credits. Just ask us.

In the best-case scenario, you could complete your Master’s for as little as $15,930—saving up to 65%. While this is possible, we encourage students to engage fully with our subjects to maximise their learning experience.

As you can see, saving 50% is achievable and practical, and many of our students are already on these pathways. However, each study plan is flexible and could vary in cost, especially if you pursue different disciplines like an MBA, which may have higher fees.

That’s why it’s essential to speak with our course advisors and admissions team—they are here to guide you to the best outcomes and help you achieve your study goals.

*Yes, we know some of this sounds complicated, but it’s true and important. That’s why we’re here to help!*
