Session 3 intake now open — classes start 17 November 2025. Cyber security can be your future.

In an era where digital threats escalate daily, we’re proud to announce the launch of the Graduate Diploma of Cyber Security, offering a seamless pathway from Graduate Certificate → Graduate Diploma → Master’s — with a built-in professional internship that delivers real workplace experience.

You can apply for the Session 3 intake now, starting 17 November 2025.

This qualification isn’t just about credentials — it’s about preparing you to step into the front lines of cyber defence, equipped with the technical skills, context, and industry experience that employers demand.

Why the timing couldn’t be better

Recent developments in Australia show how urgent the need is for skilled cyber security professionals.

According to a report by the Australian Computer Society (ACS), as of 30 May 2025, Australian businesses with an annual turnover of AUD 3 million or more are required to report any ransom paid following a ransomware attack within 72 hours. Failure to comply can result in penalties of up to AUD 19,800, and the law also applies to payments made in cryptocurrency, data, or services.

These regulations, part of the federal government’s Ransomware Reporting Obligations, aim to improve transparency, strengthen national oversight of cyber threats, and encourage better cyber hygiene across organisations. (Read the full article on ACS Information Age.)

This shift highlights how crucial cyber expertise has become across every industry — not just within IT departments. Businesses are seeking professionals who can ensure compliance, protect systems, and respond effectively to emerging threats.

Following the postgraduate pathway in cyber security can upskill you to enter this industry or elevate your existing career.

What makes the Graduate Diploma of Cyber Security different

1. A full, integrated pathway

Progress seamlessly from Graduate Certificate → Graduate Diploma → Master’s, maintaining study momentum while deepening your expertise.

2. Professional Internship built in

Gain hands-on experience with a real cyber business or department, supported by personalised coaching to help you translate theory into practice.

3. Industry-relevant curriculum

Learn from experienced academics and industry professionals covering key areas such as threat intelligence, incident response, governance, and compliance — all aligned with real-world needs.

4. Fast-track options

If you already have relevant background or prior learning, you may be eligible for credits to save on course fees and study time.

Not from an IT background?

You can still build a rewarding cyber security career.

Start with the Graduate Certificate in Computing (Career Transition) — the perfect entry point for professionals from non-IT fields. It provides the foundational knowledge you’ll need to progress confidently into the Graduate Diploma or Master’s of Cyber Security.

What this means for your career

  • In-demand skills: Organisations need people who understand both technology and the evolving compliance requirements in Australia’s cyber landscape.
  • Job-ready experience: The internship gives you real-world exposure that employers value.
  • Career progression: With the full pathway, you can grow your qualifications step by step, aligning study with your professional goals.
