- Students who haven’t completed any tertiary studies
- Students who have previously studied, and are looking to get back into it
This short course will assist you in managing your time, goals, and expectations. It will also arm you with the necessary tools to complete your assessments including how to study, how to take notes, how to reference and how to prepare for exams. Lastly, you’ll be familiarised with what to expect from peer and mentor interaction, electronic tools, learning management systems, and support services that most universities will offer.

Who will present the webinars?
Matt Constable: Matt is one of our senior industry based lecturers and has designed, developed, and delivered several subjects across several masters at Charles Sturt University, including the Master of Networking and Systems Administration, the Master of Information Systems Security, and the Master of Management (Information Technology). He has a total of 6 academic qualifications, including a Master of Computer Security, a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, and a Graduate Diploma in Psychology. He has 14 years experience as a Network Engineer, Cyber Security analyst, and Communications Engineer, and he has extensive experience as a sports coach and martial arts instructor.
Chantelle Hale: Chantelle is the IT Masters Course Director, and has been working at IT Masters for the past 10 years. During that time she’s been involved in the design, development, and delivery of several IT Masters courses and subjects. She’s designed and marked tests, essays, projects, and exams for subjects in topics across all of our Masters. She has a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, a Graduate Diploma of Vocational Education, and is currently completing her Masters in Education.
What is the aim of this short course?
The aim of the short course is to help you develop the skills and knowledge to successfully study a Master degree with Charles Sturt University.
Is there a final exam?
No – there is no final exam.
Do I get a completion certificate if I complete the course?
No certificates were offered for this short course. This short course was designed specifically to equip students with soft skills that will enhance their university experience. These skills are not measurable in the way that the skills our other short courses teach are, and ultimately, the decision was made to remove the certificate component solely for this short course and instead provide an extra webinar.
Will the course qualify me for university credit?
Completion of this short course will not qualify for credit in to the Charles Sturt University degrees featured on this website.
