Course Information

 

Who will present the webinars?

Tim Jones is a seasoned IT professional with over 30 years of experience working between large corporates, consulting, and vendors. As a lifelong learner, Tim achieved his Master’s degree via IT Masters and Charles Sturt University back in 2007, and is certified in (amongst others) architecture with AWS, GCP, Azure, TOGAF, Dell, and IBM.

Tim’s day job is as a “Global Enterprise Architect” for Dell Technologies, helping some of Dell’s largest enterprise customers manage their migration to the Cloud and modern application capabilities.

Tim has been an Adjunct Lecturer at Charles Sturt University since 2018 teaching Cloud and Microservices subjects.

 

What is the aim of this short course?

This short course aims to provide students with a fundamental understanding of simple Information Technology. This will allow students to pursue any of the postgraduate IT courses offered by CSU with the confidence that they have some of the skills required to achieve success.

 

What is included?

In addition to the weekly hour-long interactive webinars, you will be provided with suggested reading materials, audio lectures, an active discussion forum, and a weekly activity to complete.

 

Is there a final exam?

No — there is no exam for this course.

 

Do I get a completion certificate if I complete the course?

Yes — provided you receive a pass mark (50% or over) for both weekly quizzes. Please note: this certificate can not be used to claim credit in Post Graduate courses.

 

Are there any pre-requisites for the course?

No, you can sit this short course all by itself.

 

Will I need to purchase any study materials to complete the course?

No — all essential materials will be supplied.

 

Will the webinars be recorded?

Yes — all webinars are recorded and you will be able to access them, and all other free course materials, by registering for the course.

 

Am I Eligible to Study
a Post Graduate Course?

Industry experience and previous studies all contribute towards your eligibility. You do not necessarily have to have an undergraduate degree to study.
