Course Information Q&A
What is the aim of this short course?
The aim of the short course is to give you a ‘taster’ of what it is like to undertake postgraduate study via Online Education with Charles Sturt University.
Who will present the webinars?
This short course was developed by Steve Zobrist, who is one of our industry-based lecturers. Proving that distance is no longer a barrier in today’s online world, Steve delivers his subjects from Switzerland. He completed his Master of Management (Information Technology) with us in 2009 and in his ‘spare’ time he is now studying for his Doctor of Information Technology where he is researching on the topic ‘Virtual Machines in a Chemical Analytical Laboratory.’
Steve has achieved an impressive collection of industry certifications including CTT+, A+, Network+, Server+ & Security+ from CompTIA, Microsoft Certified Trainer, Microsoft Certified System Engineer, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator and Certified NetWare Engineer.
Will this course prepare me for all facets of the CTT+ certification?
No — in order to achieve CompTIA CTT+ certification, candidate must pass both a computer-based test (CTT+ Essentials TK0-201) that assesses knowledge and a performance-based exam (TK0-202 or TK0-203) in which the candidate demonstrates prescribed skills during a recorded training session. Due to time & logistics constraints, this short course only prepares you for the CTT+ Essentials TK0-201 certification exam.
Is the CTT+ certification only suitable for technology trainers?
No — CTT+ is a cross-industry certification suitable for anyone wanting to demonstrate that they are a training professional. The examinations are based on a set of objectives designed to measure the core knowledge and skills that competent instructors must demonstrate to complete an instructional assignment successfully both in a physical classroom and a virtual classroom environment.
Is there a final exam?
Yes — the short course exam will be a timed, open book exam that you will sit at your computer.
Do I get a completion certificate if I complete the course?
